Help Me!!! I Can't Get This Song Out of My Head.....

So Anyway......

Wow, it has been almost a month since my last post. Damn, that is a long time.......

Well, I guess I should try and update this more, but honestly I just have not been feeling it much. Work has been crazy busy and it is not always easy for me to update this thing from work now. But I will see what I can do about that going forward.

But let's see....what have I done in the last month. Well, a lot of hanging out with the boyfriend. Things seem to be going relatively awesome with him. A few minor bumps here and there, but otherwise things can't be better....and it is closing in on 6 months since I met him. We took our first overnight trip together......to the lovely gay resort of Rainbow Mountain. We met some of his lesbian friends there and I have to say it was fun. Somehow, we even took shooting lessons (on his friend's parent's farm, NOT on the gay resort)....so I actually shot 3 different guns. The first time I have ever shot a gun. But, let me tell you, that is some scary shit and something I really not comfortable with!

Um.....other than that, I have just been enjoying the wrap up of summer. Saw some good off-off-off Broadway shows, took in some horrible Mets games, turned another year older, had a few friends visit, had a few really great friends move away, and basically just had fun when I could.

Ok....that is about it for now. Thanks for sticking around, all 3 of you who will read this!

Hey, Hey, Hey

Wow, it has been over 2 weeks since I last updated this little thing huh? Well, well….what I have been doing during that time? Hmmmm, not much really. Working A LOT (which is good I guess), hanging with the boyfriend, um, getting fat(ter) since I have not been going to the gym and have been eating really horribly, and basically just trying to enjoy the summer.

I did go to Chicago two weekends ago for Market Days. I had never been before, and an old NYC friend of mine who now lives there has been trying to get me to visit for years.....so this year I decided to go. Basically it is the largest street fair of the summer, takes place in Boystown, and is chock full of homos. Seriously, tons and tons and tons of homos. I have to say, it was probably homo overload for me.....but nonetheless I had a good time, saw plenty of cute boys, heard some cool music (including performances by CeCe Peniston, En Vouge, the Village People, and Jody Watley), and drank a hell of a lot of beer. Ahhhh.......Good times, Good times!

But, my plan to visit the city of wind was almost foiled when I got to the airport that Saturday morning. Apparently, this man had concocted some fake bomb and threatened to blow up LaGuardia Airport! The airport was shut down, the place was evacuated, and everyone wound up sitting outside in the beating sun for 3 hours. Finally when they re-opened the airport, well after the time my flight was supposed to leave, it was so chaotic inside the place that I almost threw in my towel and canceled my trip. But I patiently waited, and waited, and waited.....and eventually got on a flight to Chicago. Glad that I stuck it out. As a side note, even though the bomber guy is obviously a loon.....he is sorta cute in a very creepy way no?

Anyway...other that that, nothing exciting going on. Today I start my new diet/exercise routine as I seriously can hardly button my dress pants anymore. It is also the first day this summer that the temperature here in NYC has reached 90 degrees.....so I plan on staying in the A/C most of the day. That might foil my return to the gym however....ugh.

It's Friday!

TGIF. And I could not be any more excited. Is it me, or has this week been the longest week in history? I am writing this at 10am Friday morning, and I can’t wait for the clock to strike 5:00pm. Can not wait!!! Happy Hour here I come!!!

Any who.....so nothing really exciting is going on in my world. Same bat time, same bat station, basically. I have just been working a lot, and mostly doing nothing at home. The BF and I are playing “house” for a week. Well it started on Wednesday and goes until Tuesday. That is because the roommate went back home, so the BF and I get the apt ALL to ourselves. So BF, is staying with me full time until then. Last night he surprised me with homemade cookies when I came home from work. And a dozen roses. Le Sigh. It is just nice to come home and relax with him, cook dinner with him…..and have lots and lots of.....well, you know.....all over the apartment. I am sure I will miss him when live goes back to normal.

Speaking of lots and lots of.....I know somebody that is not having any, at all. Tim Tebow. Now, not sure if everybody knows who he is, but he is a HOT Heisman trophy winning college football quarterback from the University of Florida. And he is a Born-Again-Christian VIRGIN who is saving himself for marriage. Say what??? You poor poor man Tim.....you need to spread the hot Tebow love as much as you can. The world needs you to do it. Do it for them Tim. In fact it would be a sin if you didn't. If you would like me to help you out.....you know how to reach me.

(Damn, that boy has an amazing body. Look at those arms. I could swing off of them all day.)

In other news..... well there is no other news really. Life is simple, but good. With that, Happy Friday everyone.

I'm Still Alive

No, I did not succumb to the instant heart attack known as National Fried Chicken Day. I have just been really really busy. If it isn't work, I feel like I have had something to do every night for the past week. It started on Tuesday when I went to see the NY Philharmonic play in Central Park (for free) with a few friends. Man, was that place PACKED. We got there at 6:30 for an 8:00 show, and this was the view from where we planted ourselves down:

We were actually closer to Belvedere Castle than to the actual stage. Still we had fun (I think the abundance of food and wine we brought with us, helped tremendously), and the fireworks at the end of the concert were great. I even sort of recall hearing some music in the background ;-)

The rest of last week I seemed to have something planned each night (dinners, drinks, etc), so this weekend I decided I would take it easy. Friday night, I curled up on the couch and watched two movies - #1 being "Death Race" (solely for the shirtless wonder known as Jason Statham) and #2 being "Sex and the City" (for like the 10th time). Could you get more opposite in two movies btw????

Saturday, I loafed around some more, did errands, and finally joined my roommate at the local gay watering hole for some drinks. Eventually the BF met me when he got out of work, and that is where things get blurry. Apparently we all had a fun time......most of which I can't recall. This led to me being extremely hungover Sunday morning, ugh, I mean late afternoon, when I woke up. Geez. So the best thing I figured to cure that would be the giant margaritas at Arriba Arriba. And I was right, it worked wonders!!! After which, the BF and I cooked dinner and stayed in for the night, catching up on "Weeds" and "True Blood".

Overall not a bad weekend..........I hope this week is not as busy though.

Today is.....

..........National Fried Chicken day of course!

Yet ANOTHER reason America is obese. And why I can't fit onto the subway when late for work in the morning.

Enjoy!

Update: Upon further research (a/k/a: slacking at work) it gets even worse. Seems tomorrow is National Strawberry Sundae Day, Wednesday is National Video Game Day, and finally Thursday is National Sugar Cookie Day. No wonder my health insurance costs so goddamn much!

TGIF: Hangover Edition

Happy Friday everyone. Not sure how your week has been going, but mine has been looooong. Traveled a few days for work, and was super busy the rest. I did get to see some old high school friends though, so that was a plus.

Last night, I went to see The Hangover” (which I might have myself right now - damn Vodka/Crans). I heard mixed things about the film, so I was not sure what to expect going into it. In the beginning, I thought to myself that it was not going to be any good, but let me just say.....by the end of the movie I was laughing hysterically. The things these guys do in the movie are classic.....and for those of you that know me, know I LOVE raunchy humor, which this film has plenty of. Plus, perhaps one of the sexiest men on movie screens right now, Bradley Cooper, is always fun to look at, but in my opinion, it was Ed Helms (a/k/a Andy from “The Office”) who steals the movie. Plus, it probably has the best ending credits EVER!

Speaking of movies, one of the previews last night was for Sacha Baron Cohen’s new flick “Brüno”. It is in the same style as “Borat”, which I half loved and half hated (there were some scenes that just made me plain uncomfortable). This time he is playing a gay Austrian fashion reporter. While some of the clips from the preview looked pretty funny, I have a feeling some of this might be offensive to some of you out there. And perhaps give off a bad stereotype. But I have a sneaking suspicion it is going to be a pretty big hit. We’ll see……

Anyway......Happy Friday y'all. Hopefully it will stop raining here in NYC for longer than 24 hours, cause this non-stop rain is killing me!!!

High Line

Last night, the BF (yes, I am officially calling him that now) and I checked out NYC’s newest park, the High Line. For those of you not in NY or who are not aware of what it is, the High Line was basically was an abandoned elevated train track that ran above NYC’s streets along the west side of Manhattan, that has been turned into a city park.

I heard about this project a few years ago and was super excited to see what it would be like. While the entire stretch of the tracks have not been completely turned into parkland yet (there is still more work to be done and more of the property to acquire from the current owners), what has been completed is pretty darn cool. There are lots of plants, grass, benches, and cool art work all along the way. The park even runs through the new Standard Hotel which recently opened as well (which is pretty cool in itself).

This is definitely not like any other park around, and I recommend checking it out. Here are some pics……

First, here is the entrance to the park at the corner of Washington Street and Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District. That weird looking building is the Standard Hotel. The second picture is the park running under the hotel. In fact below the park, is an outdoor bar that is part of the Standard.

And below are some more shots of the park itself and some of the view looking out from the tracks.

My 450th post!!!

To mark this special occasion, I thought it would be appropriate to celebrate my future ex-husband, Mr. David Beckham.

Becks recently unveiled his new Armani Exchange billboard that is currently up in London:

Le sigh, le sigh, le sigh!

Ho many car accidents do you think this will cause?

California Dreaming

So I'm back from my weekend (well 6 day) trip to California. And I had a blast!

The whole purpose of the trip was to go out to see my friend Elizabeth, who moved to LA from NYC about 2 years ago. She has been trying to get me to come for an extended visit ever since, but I have been putting it off and putting it off. Finally I agreed and went out there this past weekend, and I already want to go back.

We had such a great time hiking, shopping, eating, shopping, drinking, biking, walking, shopping. We spent a few days up in Santa Barbara, as well as a day in Palm Desert . We even went to a Dodger game my one night we actually stayed in LA.

Did I mention the shopping???? Seriously, I bought so much stuff I needed another bag to bring it home in. 3 jackets, 2 pants, like 15 shirts, underwear, shorts, bathing suit......oh man.

Anyway......I had such a good time reconnecting with Elizabeth. We have been friends since Kindergarten and lately we seemed to have drifted, but this trip made me realize what an awesome friend she is. We had some amazing talks and she had me laughing so hard a few times, my sides are still hurting. She also made me realize I need to get my ass in shape. The hikes we did were simply breathtaking and hard as hell! We even looked at apartments (she is looking to move) and scoped out a few with an extra bedroom should I decide to move out there (she wants me to).

Here are a few pics from the trip......

First, some pics from one of our hikes in the Pacific Palisades. We did a total of 4 trails over the weekend, but this one was simply the best. Views of the beach and mountains and everything in between.

And here was our ride for the weekend.....a black convertible Aston Martin. Elizabeth's very nice boyfriend lent it to us. This car was HOT. And it sure got us looks.

The Dodger game we went to was ok. It was an LA rivalry because they were playing the Angels. To be honest I couldn't care less who won, I just wanted to check out Dodger Stadium. One of my secret wishes is to see a baseball game in every Major League Baseball Stadium. So I got to cross this one off the list. But let me tell you, when we pulled into the parking lot, I kind of had a panic attack. I have never seen so many cars in one spot all at once. EVER! It was a very overwhelming. But I settled down once I had a Dodger Dog. Once inside, this was the view from my seat.

Lastly, I mentioned I shopped and shopped and shopped (I am too scared to even look at my credit card statement). Now for some reason, I decided to buy this hat. Oh, and those sunglasses. Not sure what I was thinking, but I rocked the hat all weekend. Especially driving in the Aston!

And now it is Friday, and I can't wait till this working day is over! Happy TGIF everyone.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Oh my, how time is flying between posts huh? Well, I have just been super busy. Work is kicking the crap out of me, but in a good way. This project I am working on is really a doozey, but so far I am enjoying it and getting a lot accomplished. I have been traveling out to Long Island a lot, which really sucks, but this week it looks like it will all be in Manhattan. Well, until tomorrow anyway, cause after that I am off to Cali to visit my friend Elizabeth!!! Flying to Los Angeles on Thursday morning and then driving out to Palm Springs for a few day and/or maybe down to San Diego. We have not figured it all out yet, but I come back next Tuesday. I can't wait to get the fuck out of town.

As for the "New Boy", I guess I can now change that to the "New BF". We have been hanging out a lot and things can't be better. And as part of a now famous (amongst my friends) and intoxicated night out this weekend at Rawhide (say what???) we agreed that we did not want to see anyone else, so I guess we are now officially boyfriends! Or something along those lines. I'm just really happy with him. Tonight he is taking me on a surprise date. I am meeting him at a bar downtown and know nothing else. All I told was the time, the meeting location, and that I had to dress up all fancy (no jeans, sneakers, or even polo shirts allowed!) Oh, I was told not to wear underwear (but I think that is just for him and me later).

Anywho......this weekend was tons and tons of fun. First off, my buddy Tim came down from Boston for a visit and we had a blast hanging out. Friday night, him and his friend David who he was staying with, met up with myself and Jay for dinner and drinks. A few friends of mine also met us out and we had a ton of fun at Barrage, the Ritz, and finally the 9th Avenue Saloon. It was a late night and what made it even later is that when I got home (with the New BF in tow), my roommate had one of his friends over so the four of us decided it would be a good idea to play "Pictionary". Not exactly the best idea, but it was fun. Although, I learned that after plenty of Vodka Cranberries, I am not the best at drawing a dog.

Saturday, I actually went for a run (go me, go me) and then hit up the 9th Avenue Food Festival, where I ate some nice food. I met up with some friends too for a cocktail, and then headed out to Uncle Charlie's. That is where Tim and the New BF met us before we all decided to go to Rawhide. The funny part was while at Uncle Charlie's we all got free "Stoli Vodka t-shirts". So we all decided we would wear them when we walked into Rawhide. And we concocted some story that we were part of a gay bachelor party. My roommate and Tim were the happy couple it turned out. When we finally did walk in, we got some strange looks I must say (plus it did not help that we were all soaking wet from a sudden downpour). It did not take long before we gave up on the story and took off the shirts, but still we had fun with it for a while.

Sunday it was time for Cooper's Law School graduation (congrats friend!!!), then brunch with him and the boys. Afterwards, I crashed for a few hours on the couch, but somehow got convinced to meet my friend Marcel for a few drinks at Gym Bar and then finally Duplex. Man - it sounds like I drank a lot huh? Well, ok, perhaps I did....but I must say I had fun doing it. From what I remember.

Oh, and this is what I walked into at the deli on my corner Friday night. I have no idea who these people were and I am not sure exactly what was going on, but they sure were having fun. And were definitely more drunk than I was, I was able to even take this picture.

Where did the week go?

It is Friday again kids. Woot! And do you know what is so great about today???? Huh, do you? Well it's this:

That's right....it is actually SUNNY out in NYC today. See, it has rained every single day this week. Every. Single. Day. And not just a light rain. It was downpouring on occasions and was accompanied by thunder and lightning sometimes too. It was just soooooo dreary, you never wanted to get out of bed. And to make matters worse, this week for work I had to rent a car and drive 1 1/2 to 2 hours each way to my company's headquarters, so I could work on a special project that I have been assigned to for the next 3 months. Let me tell you, getting up at 6am and driving in the rain for 2 hours is NOT fun. And then driving back 2 hours in the rain before getting to Manhattan in the middle of 7:30 rush hour is again NOT fun. Yesterday it actually took 3 hours thanks to some stupid idiot who flipped his car on the L.I.E. Today I did not have to go out there, but I will be doing that again for a least the beginning of next week. Ugh!!! But on the bright side, and after seeing this, at least I HAVE a job to drive to I suppose, right?

This weekend it is supposed to maybe rain again (What the Fuck Mother Nature?!?!?).....but I plan on enjoying the weekend anyway. Mets game tonight with Cooper and Daniel, perhaps a movie tomorrow, and a trip to Ikea on Sunday. Maybe a drink or two thrown in there somewhere as well.

Speaking of movies, last weekend I saw "Adventurland". I was not really into seeing it before we go to the theater, but afterwards I have to say I liked it a lot. It was smart, it was funny, it had terrific music (including Exposé, Whitesnake, Crowded House, Falco, and the Cure!) and it had Ryan Reynolds in it!!! My only complaint is that Ryan was never shirtless. Well, in my mind he was, but on the screen he was always dressed. Anyway, I still give it "Two Thumbs Up!"

Alright, I am out of here....gots lots of work to do before quitting time. Have a good weekend!

Swine Friday

TGIF! I am soooooo happy it is Friday. This week has been an extremely long one. Work has been insane. And if I have to hear anything more about this freaking Swine Flu, I think I might just tell everyone I have it so they leave me alone. Excuse me, but I have a lot of problems with this so-called pandemic.

First off - when will the public realize that MORE people die of the REGULAR FLU than of the Swine Flu. In fact the World Health Organization has said that symptoms of the Swine Flu may even be less severe than seasonal influenza symptoms. Nothing like a little media frenzy to get people terrified. And for companies to try and profit on the stupid public. Just look at this picture my friend sent me yesterday from the local drug store:

(that is below the hand sanitizers)

Second - speaking of being terrified, is it really necessary for people to be walking around in masks? I counted at least 12 people so far today. Seriously, just wash your hands when out in public (like you should be doing already), and you can effectively limit your chances of getting sick. Come on people, do you really want to look like these two twats:

And finally - I have had enough of all the comments about Swine Flu every time somebody coughs or sneezes. You know, sometimes I just want to clear my throat. I does not mean, I want to hear my office-mate saying, "Oh no! Do you have the swine flu?" every time I do it. ENOUGH! It might have been cute the first time, maybe, big maybe, but not anymore you fucker. Ugh!

Ok - rant is now over. Happy thoughts, Billy, Happy thoughts.

Speaking of happy thoughts......I can't wait for the weekend to start. I don't really have any plans except going to hang out with the New Boy tonight after he gets out of work. Things have been going really well with him. In fact, last night he did the sweetest thing. I had a SHITTY day at work. I mean SHITTY. I had told him about it on the phone, but had no plans to see him last night. Around 9, he texted me and said "Would you mind if I stopped over in a bit? I would love to see you after your bad day and give you a kiss." So I said fine, and when he showed up he had a dozen red roses for me. He looked so cute walking up the stairs with them. But not only did he have the red roses for me, he also brought a dozen yellow roses (which symbolize friendship) for my roommate since he feels bad for being over our apartment so much lately. I thought that was the nicest thing, and I know my roommate appreciated it too. He stayed for a bit, watched TV with us, and then went out to meet some of his friends. It was a pleasant surprise. Le Sigh.

Anyway......besides seeing him tonight, I plan on taking it easy and relaxing the weekend. Can't wait to catch up on some sleep because the next work week will be insane!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

(No reason for this picture, I just liked it)
